Welcome to my blog. A blog written to share my cooking experiences, a lot of my turmoils in the kitchen trying out classic recipes and inventing new ones too. This blog is still at its infancy, without fancy pictures and funky gizmos. Not sure if I want to do that though…This is after all just a food blog. 🙂
You see, I come from Malaysia which is the food haven for any salivating foodie like me to relinquish the frequent cravings (quickly) at a nearby hawker or mamak stall. But since I moved to Western Australia in January 2013, I am forced to cook my favourite meals – because not only eating out punctures the wallet, the food doesn’t taste half as good. So, some of the recipes posted on this blog were tried several times based on several references and some were just trial and errors till I got the taste right.
I love cooking and I usually cook by feel, taste and aroma rather than measuring cups and weighing scales. Not that one method is better than the other. But I recently have come to realize that if I don’t start logging my recipes NOW, many years to come, my children will not be able to savour the different cuisines like I did. So, starting this blog is also a way to keep these recipes a living memory. So here goes.
